A tough few days

I just got back from the vet with Lucy and Zeke.  I had just been there to say goodbye to Figgy on Saturday morning, so I didn’t enjoy seeing the vet again so soon.  But Lucy needed her vaccinations and Zeke needed a butt squeeze so off we went.  Of course that Damn Neighbor Cat was standing behind my car in the driveway the second we left the house.  That really riled up the dogs and they jumped up against my brand new car even before I got the door open.

Lucy has a bad yeast infection in her ear and I have to give her two kinds of drops before taking her in for a recheck in a week.¬† $250 on Saturday to euthanize Fig and cremate him and another $250 today for the dogs.¬† Remind me of these bills the next time I’m looking at the rescue websites.

I’m quite used to treating ear infections.  Zeke had dozens of them before he started to get regular ear washings from Lucy.  But I’m a bit unsure how I’m supposed to keep Zeke from washing the medication out of Lucy’s ear??

On another front, Erin helped me reseed my lawn Saturday afternoon and to keep the dogs out we put up a pretty nice fence around the grass (you can do this too for around $150 in materials from Home Depot).  Of course, I’ve caught Lucifer inside the fence three times now.

The dogs are used to chasing each other around the grass on a daily basis so they’re getting really annoyed with the lack of grass and I’m getting desperate for the next couple of weeks to pass before they can use it again.  Grow, grass, grow!!
